One Size Fits All Menorca Holidays
Read on for a guide to some of our best Menorca holidays – whether you want to get to know the local culture or just want some sun, sea and sand, we’ve got the trip for you.
Relax and Unwind in Son Bou and Cala Galdana
If the main thing you want from a vacation is a chance to escape from work and home life and de-stress, the beautiful beaches of Son Bou and stunning landscapes of Cala Galdana might be just what the doctor ordered.
Son Bou Beach
Combining great food and drink options with rugged natural beauty, Son Bou provides guests with the perfect mix of comfort, convenience and calm. Lifeguards and a flag system help keep you safe along the 3km of coastline, letting you enjoy the soft, warm sand and the beautiful Mediterranean sun in perfect peace.
Top Tip: If you’re into wildlife, look out for the wild birds that can be spotted in the protected wetlands behind the beach.
Where to Stay in Son Bou
As with all our Menorca holidays, trips to this idyllic beach on the south coast of the island let you stay in your choice of our beautiful villas in the area. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms each, along with air-conditioning, sea views and satellite TV, both Bona Vista and Belle Vista will keep you in the lap of luxury.
Cala Galdana Beach
Picture-perfect is the only way to describe the coastline in this beautiful corner of Menorca. Chill out on the golden sands and watch the waves as they lap onto the shore – there’s no better place to watch the world go by than here!
Where to Stay in Cala Galdana
It can sometimes be difficult to arrange travel and accommodation for large groups – but that’s not an issue in Cala Galdana. Our excellent large villas Springhill, Acantilado and Vista Alegre each have more than enough to accommodate the whole family.
They’re similarly well kitted out with appliances, too, with each boasting an outdoor barbecue, a pool and a large terrace area. Even a rare day of bad weather has a solution, with each accommodation providing a satellite TV and DVD player.
Explore the Outdoors in Sant Lluis and Fornells
If you’re the kind of person who gets a little restless with nothing to do but relax, have no fear – Menorca may be small, but the island has a lot to do in the great outdoors.
World-Class Wine Tours in Sant Lluis
It might be less well known than other wine regions in Europe, but Menorca has been quietly producing excellent wines for a long time now. On a visit to the Binifadet winery, you can experience both the astounding natural beauty of the area and the passion and expertise the winery brings to its craft.
Beginning in the vineyards, the tour takes guests on a journey from grape to glass, with the wine-tasting that caps off the tour encouraging you to search for the influence of the landscapes and scents you’ve seen on your journey in the wine you’re drinking.
Where to Stay in Sant Lluis
In keeping with the natural beauty of the area, our Menorca holidays to Sant Lluis offer you the chance to stay in grand countryside properties. Casa Sabarraca is a traditional country house with views of the rolling hills. It’s a short drive from the beach and features a pool and beautifully maintained, sprawling gardens.
Meanwhile, Casa Antonio is a traditional white stone property in the small hamlet of S’Uestra. A recent renovation maintained its authentic charm while updating amenities, and it boasts its own lawn, terrace and pool.
Wet and Wild Watersports in Fornells
Whether you want to experience the adrenaline rush of kitesurfing or the calmer workout of kayaking, this popular spot on the north of the island is the place to go. Fornells Bay provides great natural shelter from the open sea, allowing first-timers to have as much fun as more experienced watersportsmen.
Where to Stay in Fornells
‘Finca’ is a Spanish word for farm, but don’t worry: both of these properties are far closer to the easy living of a holiday ranch than the muddy, strenuous reality of farming. Finca Santa Victoria and Finca Binimazoch are both big, beautiful country houses, boasting all the amenities you’d expect including terraces and pools.
Top Tip: Make the short drive out to the unspoilt beaches of Pregonda and Caballeria for even more of the island’s rugged charm.
Get Cultured in Alaior and Sant Climent
Finally, these two locations are perfect for those who want to experience a little authentic local culture – from modern jazz music to age-old traditions, you’ll never be short of unique things to see and do.
Fun Fiestas in Alaior
The Fiesta de Sant Llorenc is the perfect party for high summer Menorca holidays, falling on the second weekend of August every year. The mayor flies a flag to open the festivities on the Friday night, and a full weekend of fun follows, including horseback parades, live traditional music, a parade with huge floats and much, much more.
Where to Stay in Alaior
Yet another spacious villa, Finca Binetsau comes with a dining room along with all the other comfortable amenities you’d expect, making it the perfect location to relax in between festivities.
Sant Climent’s Casino
A world away from the traditional fiesta you’ll find in Alaior, the main attraction at Sant Climent Casino are the jazz nights, which see talented local musicians mining the long and varied history of jazz and mixing it with a distinctive Menorcan flavour. The drinks here are also well worth coming for.
Where to Stay in Sant Climent
Casa Madoria offers tranquillity, elegance and grace, with all five bedrooms and three bathrooms decorated in a winning style and a private pool to relax in. Villa Maria, meanwhile, sits between Sant Climent and the larger resort of Cala ‘n Porter, being ideally located to explore the island.
